of Soaring Success P.E.C. is our lead trainer and consultant.

History

Back in late 1997 Daniel began training the gentle martial art of Aikido in Regina, Saskatchewan. During his first 2 years of training he discovered a deep passion for helping others to learn and grow. After a bit of research Daniel discovered a need in the community for organizations focused on working with at-risk street youth. An epiphany came when he decided to work towards starting his own business which would provide Aikido training as a form of out-reach program for troubled teens.

Having first studied business administration at Mount Royal College, Daniel worked in the field of business communications and finance and, after making the decision to change careers, Daniel left his 13 year career in the field of Business Administration to follow his passion and return to school. Originally he was introduced to NLP in 1999 when he met a new student at his Aikido dojo, Ms. Judy Wright of Gateways Counseling, who was a local Canadian Association of NLP (CANLP) recognized NLP trainer taught by Tad James of Advanced Neuro Dynamics in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Training & Education

In 2001 Daniel took the practitioner certification training courses from Judy and, after receiving both his NLP and Hypnotherapy Practitioner Certificates from her, then took her NLP and Hypnotherapy Master Practitioner Certification training in 2002. He then began his career as a behavioral modification coach taking a counseling and assistant facilitator position with Judy at Gateways Counseling in Regina. Her company worked with individuals and couples as well as provided a variety of communication seminars and workshops to organizations, such as the Casino Regina Security Staff, Saskatchewan Health Services, Saskatchewan Highway Transport Patrol and Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.

After co-assisting the instruction of an NLP course Daniel went to NLP University at the University of California Santa Cruz in 2004 and completed the NLP Trainer and Consultancy Certification course taught by Robert Dilts and Judith DeLozier. As well, Daniel has training in William Glasser’s Reality Therapy/Choice Theory/Lead Management and has studied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. More recently, Daniel finished his doctorate in the Metaphysical Science distance education program from the University of Metaphysics at the University of Sedona in Arizona.

Current Focus

Daniel now lives in the City of Gardens, beautiful Victoria, BC. and works as a behavior modification coach and NLP trainer doing both one-on-one counseling and business consulting. Daniel operates his own coaching company, Soaring Success Personal Excellence Coaching (www.SoaringSuccess.ca) and is one of the few NLP practitioners in the world specializing in Verbal Self-Defense.

The NLP based Verbal Self Defense system which Daniel teaches was originally conceived during the 2004 NLP Trainers training in Santa Cruz, CA. The basic Verbal Self-Defense model was conceived and developed by incorporating input from several different well respected NLP instructors from around the world. After returning to Victoria Daniel took the model into the field for research. Using it while working part time at a local pub he was able to refine the model until it was as efficient and effective as possible.

Through the help of the Saanich Police Department in 2006 Verbal Self-Defense was developed even further. With input from officers who deal with difficult situations daily the total technique was taken to an even higher level of applicability – and IT WORKS!
